SyncBrowserGuard — Privacy Policy

SyncBrowserGuard is an internal browser extension provided by SyncSols for use on company-managed devices. It enforces a company file-type policy on uploads and downloads and, where enabled by the company, records web activity for security and compliance purposes. This policy explains what data the extension handles.

1. Who this applies to

This extension is distributed by SyncSols to its workforce and is installed and managed by company administrators. It is not offered to the general public.

2. Data the extension handles

• File decisions: when a user uploads or downloads a file through the browser, the extension records the file name, detected type, size, the website involved, and whether it was allowed or blocked.

• Web activity (only if enabled by the company): the websites visited on the managed device — by domain by default, or full URL if the company configures it — with date and time.

• Policy and configuration: the extension reads the company policy delivered by the administrator. It does not collect names, passwords, financial data, or health data.

3. How the data is used

• To enforce the company’s file-type policy and prevent leakage of confidential information and source code.

• To provide company administrators with records of file decisions and, where enabled, web activity, for security and compliance.

4. How the data is shared

Records are sent only to the company’s own internal logging server. SyncSols does not sell user data, does not transfer it to third parties except as required by law, and does not use it for creditworthiness or lending.

5. Retention

Records are retained for the period set by the company administrator (by default, file decisions 120 days and web activity 120 days) and then deleted.

6. Transparency

Where web-activity monitoring is enabled, the extension displays a notice to users in the browser indicating that activity on the managed device is monitored.
